Reworking of an Extra 400, carbon fiber, pressurized-cabin class aircraft.
- The original King radios were removed.
- Patching of removed antennas, even on composite pressurized aircraft structures are within the experience and expertise of the staff here at Twin Lakes Avionics.
- The original structure is tapered to a feather edge, filler installed in the exposed honeycomb, several layers of carbon fiber are laid up, then the release film, peel ply, bleeder, and vacuum bag are added. Vacuum is applied for many hours. Then the patch is ready to be top coated with appropriate primer and paint.
Then we finally get to finish installing the radios and test out the newly installed toys.
